Sino-UK Beijing Key Primary and Secondary School Teachers In-service Training Program

    Since July of 2004, working with the Culture and Education Section, British Embassy, Beijing Institute of Education have taken series of trainings named “Sino-UK Beijing Key Primary and Secondary School Teachers In-service Training Program”. Till June of 2008, 1,082 primary and secondary school teachers had joined in the program. With joint cooperation by Beijing Institute of Education, the Culture and Education Section, British Embassy, and training experts in the past years, the training program made big influence and achieved great success. The program is highly recognized by Beijing Municipal Government, Beijing Educational Committee, districts and schools, and all participants. The “Sino-UK Beijing Key Primary and Secondary School Teachers In-service Training Program” has turned out to be one of the excellent teacher training programs in the city with unique features.

Sino-UK Leadership Promotion Program for Primary and Secondary School Principals

    From 2003 to 2008, a series of leadership promotion programs were held by both Beijing Institute of Education and the Culture and Education Section, British Embassy. In the 6 years, over 600 principals from primary and secondary schools in Beijing joined in the programs. The trainers of the programs were senior principals from UK while trainees were the participants of principal’s training programs at Beijing Institute of Education. The training program was welcomed by all trainees and gained good effects. Through the training, the educational system, educational management system, the operation of schools, and the work of principals in UK were introduced. Meanwhile, the cooperations between some schools in China and UK were established through the training.

Intel @ Tech Getting Started and Skills for Success Program

    Since 2000, with the supports from the Ministry of Education, China, and local governments in different provinces, the Intel @ Tech Getting Started and Skills for Success Program guide teachers to change their teaching concepts and modes with modern technology. The introduction of the project brings us to better teaching concepts, training modes and management patterns.

The Exchange program on Pre-school Education between Beijing Institute of Education and Bergen University College

    Beijing Institute of Education establishes partnership with Bergen University College to promote the mutual understanding on basic education. Since 2004, about 200 university students on pre-school education from Bergen University College, Norway have attended in the program and exchanged with pre-school teachers in Beijing.
