The Fourth International Symposium on Teacher Learning
and Professional Development
First Announcement

Artificial intelligence (AI) is profoundly influencing the development and transformation of education. Teachers are the cornerstone of school education, and teacher learning and professional development remain pivotal to effective educational management. A high-quality teaching workforce serves as the foundation for the sustainable advancement of education. In the AI era, the digital and intelligent transformation of education has injected new vitality into teacher learning and professional development while presenting unprecedented challenges. This demands a critical re-examination of teachers’ evolving roles, pedagogical practices, and the competencies needed in technology-rich environments. How can we reshape teacher learning, foster professional development, and optimize the teaching workforce in the AI era? These urgent inquiries call for profound exploration and collective dialogue.
The Beijing Institute of Education (BJIE) is pleased to announce the Fourth International Symposium on Teacher Learning and Professional Development, to be held from November 9 to 10, 2025. The symposium will focus on critical issues surrounding teacher learning and professional development in the AI era. We cordially invite researchers and practitioners in the field of teacher education worldwide to submit papers, participate in the conference, and contribute insights and expertise to drive academic research and practical innovation in in-service teacher education.
Launched in 2018 by the BJIE, the International Symposium on Teacher Learning and Professional Development is a biennial academic forum dedicated to advancing theoretical research and practical innovation in in-service teacher education. Over three successful iterations, the symposium has established itself as a vital platform for global educational professionals to gather, engage in dialogue, exchange ideas, and conduct in-depth discussions. It has gained significant academic and practical influence in the field of teacher education. As we prepare for the Fourth International Symposium, we aim to build upon its legacy while forging new pathways forward. With your engagement, participation, and support, we strive to deepen discussions, strengthen collaborations, and drive high-quality development in in-service teacher education.
Join us in shaping a future where theoretical exploration and practical innovation empower educators globally, creating sustainable change for generations to come.
